\n Spices Board, the statutory organization constituted\n on 26th February 1987, under the Spices Board Act\n 1986 with the merger of the erstwhile Cardamom Board\n and Spices Export Promotion Council under the\n Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of\n India, is responsible for the export promotion of\n the 52 scheduled spices and development and research\n of cardamom (small and large). Spices Board is the\n flagship organization for the development and\n worldwide promotion of Indian spices. The Board has\n been spearheading activities for the excellence of\n Indian spices, so as to help the Indian spice\n industry in attaining the vision of becoming the\n international processing hub and premier supplier of\n clean and value added spices and herbs to the\n industrial, retail and food service segments of the\n global spices market.\n
\n\n The Spices Board is responsible for the overall\n development of cardamom (small and large) in terms\n of improving production, productivity and quality.\n The Board is also implementing post-harvest\n improvement programmes for improving quality of the\n 52 scheduled spices for export. The various\n development programmes and post-harvest quality\n improvement programmes of the Board are included\n under the head ‘Export Oriented Production’.\n
\n\n CRES stands for Certificate of Registration as\n Export of Spices. In case of export/import of\n Spices/Spice products, Certificate of Registration\n as Exporter of Spices issued by the Board is\n mandatory.\n
